The village is located in a green setting
, between olive groves and vines.
The monastery has been created in 782.
During the Middle-ages, the Aniane's
abbaye was one of the richest influencial
abbaye of the Languedoc. The abbaye has
been destroyed during the religious wars
(VIIth and VIIIth centuries). The abbaye
has been rebuilded as a magneficient
classical building.
To see in Aniane : Saint Sauveur's
church, the Chapelle des Pénitents, the
Hôtel de Ville, the marché aux moines,
the Chapelle Regagnas… The village

Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert
Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, this legendary
city-state is one of the most beautiful
village of France and is classified in
the Grand Site National from 1999.
The wild site is located at the entrance
of the Georges du Verdus and of the cirque
de l'Infernet.
His church is a gem of the Languedoc
Romanesque art. The plane tree is 150
years old and the houses are old of
12th century. The name of the city
came from Guilhem, founder of the
Gellone's monastery.
The city is also a stage on the
Jean-Saint-de-Compostelle path.

The Clamouse Cave
For the adventurers, you will
discover all the cavities and the
caves of the region. The cavities have
been digged by underground rivers.
Speleology is a well known activity in
the Hérault's valley : the nearest site
is located at the Grottes de Clamouse.
